Tocotrienols
Type : Vitamins
Although the chemical structures of tocopherols and tocotrienols are similar, the main difference is that tocotrienols contain unsaturated side chains with double bonds, an unsaturated form of vitamin E.
Like tocopherol, tocotrienols come in 4 different forms: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta, and are nutrients with antioxidant power that can resist free radical damage. Because of this property, studies have pointed out that tocotrienols may help protect the brain, prevent dementia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, improve cardiovascular health, reduce the risk of certain cancers, and maintain healthy skin and hair. Promotes gastrointestinal health.
Common food sources include cereals, rice bran, oats, barley and palm oil.
