Marigold extract is derived from the flowers of the marigold plant and is known for its vibrant yellow or orange colour. Marigold extract is rich in compounds such as carotenoids, flavonoids, and triterpenoids, which contribute to its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties which promote healthy skin by protecting against oxidative damage, soothing irritation, and supporting wound healing.
Marigold extract is also believed to benefit eye health, as the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin found in marigold extract are known to protect eyes against age-related macular degeneration. Additionally, marigold extract may support the immune system, aid in digestive health, and possess antimicrobial properties.
